  17.   Promethium is the least abundant of all rare-earth elements in
  18. earth's crust. There is absolutely none. It is remarkable that
  19. anything at all is known about its properties.
  20.   Promethium belongs to teh lanthanide series (between 57 and 71)
  21. and indicates that it is classified as a rare-earth metal. This
  22. sort of classification is largely responsible for the facts that
  23. are known about the element.
  24.   Promethium has at least two allotropic forms.
