- Promethium is the least abundant of all rare-earth elements in
- earth's crust. There is absolutely none. It is remarkable that
- anything at all is known about its properties.
- Promethium belongs to teh lanthanide series (between 57 and 71)
- and indicates that it is classified as a rare-earth metal. This
- sort of classification is largely responsible for the facts that
- are known about the element.
- Promethium has at least two allotropic forms.
